Climbing in El Castell de Les Dames (Recommended summer)

If you love climbing and want to escape from the noisy and crowded cliffs and enjoy a small natural paradise, we suggest you spend a day of sport in the Castell de Les Dames, one of the areas with more history and pedigree of Gombrén, to enjoy a quality climbing without people and surrounded by nature with the privilege of listening to the silence with the birds singing while you get rich watching magnificent views of the Pyrenees.
The Castell de Les Dames is an area of summer, or when the sun is strong, because it is very north, shaded almost from early morning, is small and quiet place near other larger and more famous peaks such as Montgrony and Corones.
To get there by car, we will take the GI-401 road from Campdevànol. Once you arrive at Gombrén the access is very simple, just as you park, take the path and when you reach a milestone (stone marker that delimits a property) turn left, walk a little until you reach the starting point of the climb.

-Park where you can without hindering traffic and the tranquility of the neighbors. The parking lots are small; the capacity of the same and the size of the vehicle influences.
-Go up the path that leads to the Santuari de Montgrony that goes up parallel to the road, through the middle of Gombrèn, towards Montgrony.

-We pass the other side of the Torrent de Barruell and after walking about 50-100 meters we find a rocky area on our left. There is a signpost that indicates that we must leave the path to Montgrony and ascend the rocky area.

-We go up this path, at first very rocky and then very clear, always ascending, with the wall that is sensed on our left and leaving aside forks that go down or continue straight. Always up until you reach the Castell de les Dames Baix.
-If we want to access Castell de Les Dames de Dalt is just as easy, but it takes a long time because it is somewhat remote and you have to walk on a gently sloping path. In total about 20 minutes from the parking.

-It is a slightly sloping vertical limestone formation - both subsectors - crisscrossed by routes equipped with parabolas or chemical anchors and carabiner or ring meetings. The first routes were opened in 1987.

Keep in mind that you are in a natural environment of great beauty and tranquility.
-Do not behave irresponsibly with the local population. It takes many years to gain their respect and only a stupid moment to lose it.

-Park in the established places without hindering the passage of other vehicles: private, agricultural,....

-Be respectful with the environment, with the architecture that delimits the area (markings, milestones, trails,...) and leave the fences of the track and/or trails as they were found, with the wire in place.

-Clean the tracks of magnesium once they have been tested. Don't clear them and if you want to do it, erase them afterwards. Not everyone likes them and it is not sporty.

-Do not mistreat or break the plants or disturb the local fauna.

-To do the corporal necessities in discreet places. The same for dogs.

-Collect the garbage (including adhesive tape and cigarette butts) and dispose of it in the nearest container. Orange peels are biodegradable, but in large quantities they are unpleasant to the eye and it is difficult for them to disappear.

-Do not make a fuss as noise pollution has detrimental effects on many species and disturbs ecosystems in protected areas and natural environments.
