(ES) El Ripollès, Land of Counts and Abbots

Video language: SPANISH

This is a video of the Catalan region of Ripollès and is a sample of tourism and visits that can be made by some of its most famous towns like Ripoll, its capital, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Gombrèn, Campdevànol and Camprodon. These towns have been grouped under the brand Land of Counts and Abbots (Terra de Comtes i Abats).

Ripoll, one of the smallest Catalan county capitals, has several points of interest such as its well-known monastery, the ethnographic museum of Ripoll, inaugurated a year ago, its old town and the Farga Palau. Also noteworthy are the CAT, tourist reception centers for visitors to the area.
A short distance away we find the town of Sant Joan de les Abadesses which has as an interesting enclave the monastery that, like Ripoll, was built by the Catalan Count Wilfredo the Hairy. Also highly recommended are the Molí Petit (small mill) and the palace of the Abbey, where the interpretation center of Comte Arnau, a mythical character in the history of Catalonia, is located. Other points of great interest and that appear in this video are the pond of Banyuts (Gorg dels Banyuts), and the castle of Mataplana and the sanctuary of Montgrony, in the municipality of Gombrèn. Finally we will make a tour of the elegant village of Camprodon, one of the most stately of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees.
