THE STEPS OF THE PROCESSION OF CAMPDEVÀNOL ARE LIVING, STATIC AND MUTE
Every Good Friday, and since 2006, after 42 years without being represented, the LIVING PROCESSION OF CAMPDEVÀNOL, which leads to the Dolorosa and the Holy Sepulchre to the Church of the population. Promoted by the Association of Friends of the Easter Procession of Campdevànol. THE LIVING PROCESSION OF CAMPDEVÀNOL (Girona) is the only one in the world in which the steps are living, static and silent. The story goes that in those years there was not enough money to buy statues. The only way to represent the procession was to characterize people of the population and build the steps. The number of participants and collaborators increases every year, more than 500 people, businesses and organizations of the population of Campdevànol go out every Easter. The living floats are placed on top of floats driven by the residents of the town; "L'Hort de Getsemaní", "L'Ecce Homo", "El Camí del Calvari" and "El Davallamanet de la Creu". The procession is complemented with the image of the Dolorosa, the Holy Sepulcher, the Romans, the Veronica, the Samaritan woman, Judas, the Three Marys and the children with the expletives. Also, the armed men will leave on Maundy Thursday to take the banner to the town hall where they will pick it up the next day, before the start of the procession.
